Reading services are not covered by insurance.

We offer private pay options for those who would like to pay privately for services and/or for those who are opting not to use their insurance.

We primarily offer services in our clinic, located at 1130 Ten Rod Road in North Kingstown, RI. We also offer telepractice services.

We primarily work with children from toddlers through teens.

Yes. It is best for each treating therapist to fully evaluate your child to determine the type of therapy and strategies needed, frequency, and other pertinent information to best support you and your child in achieving their goals.

Play-based therapy is an approach that utilizes play activities and games to enhance speech and language development in children, fostering a natural and enjoyable learning environment. Through child-centered, interactive play, therapists target specific therapy goals, promoting engagement and progress in speech and language, and fine motor or feeding skills.

Speech therapy involves evidence-based, targeted interventions to identify and address underlying communication challenges, using play-based activities and exercises to encourage language development and improve foundational skills. Your speech-language pathologist may incorporate multiple ways to facilitate communication including the use of baby sign language, pictures, and symbols paired with verbal language.

School-based therapy is based on your child's ability to access the curriculum and be successful in the school environment, whereas private-based therapy is about the functional needs and ability to demonstrate skills at home and in the community. Many parents opt to have their children participate in both types of therapy. If they didn't qualify for school-based services, they may still qualify for private services based on the level of support needed to functionally participate in everyday activities.

We are not a RI state provider of early intervention services; however, we do work with children of all ages and encourage you to set up an appointment at your earliest time of concern. Providing services as early as possible is shown to improve skills for years to come.
